Strete Parish Council

Strete Parish Council

Strete Parish Council welcomes you to the official village website and hopes that you will find it interesting. We are a committee of seven plus the Clerk and meet on the third Thursday evening in every month. Members of the public have the opportunity to speak before the meeting commences. In this way, your views can be taken into account during the meeting.

Strete is a small parish with a population of approximately 500, although this changes frequently, but we do have a lot of activities going on in the Village. There is an excellent Parish Hall, with all facilities, which can be hired for all types of functions and meetings. For bookings, speak to Brian on (01803) 770783.

There is a small community woods area where you can picnic and walk the dog. You are also welcome to walk your dog in our leisure field with its wildlife section and stunning views of Start Bay. The village also has a children’s play park.

The village magazine, Stretewise, gives details of all the activities and other information for the village including the Parish Council minutes. To obtain a copy or submit an article, e-mail your enquiry to the Editor, Malcolm Hollis, on stretewise@gmail.com or telephone (01803) 770894.

We hope you will come and visit us and perhaps stay at one of the local B&Bs or campsite and enjoy the natural beauty of our coastline and countryside.
